The team is famous for its tasty afternoon tea in the town centre, and so I was thrilled to hear about this bakery opening on my doorstep.
On 1st March, they opened their doors, and from all accounts, it was a roaring success, as I think they have now extended their opening hours - the locals already love them!
My first experience wasn't great if I'm honest, but it might simply be down to the fact that I'm a shy mummy and hate causing a fuss. So, on their opening day I walked through the park to the bakery, only to find that the pram wouldn't fit through the door. They have an old fashioned door which has two narrow openings, and only one was open. Keen not to be a pain on their first day, I carried on with my walk.

To be fair, every single time I've passed since then, both doors have been open. And if I'd known how friendly the staff were, I would have gone in on their opening day. Ah well, now I know.
Keen to sample some pastry, I went to the bakery last week and there was already a queue (a good sign!), which was good for me as I can take forever to make a decision.
I opted for a late lunch - the original sausage roll. A little pricey for £2 I thought but a lovely treat none the less. It was delicious, and the ratio of meat to pastry was spot on. A pinch of salt would have made it the perfect lunch.
I plan on trying something sweet on my next visit, maybe a brownie, or scone, or meringue - ah decisions, decisions!
When I visited: Around 3pm on a Thursday.
What I had: A very tasty sausage roll for £2.
Access: A little narrow if only one side of the door is open, but the staff are very friendly and I'm sure they'd be more than happy to open the other side for a mummy with a pram. A very small shop, so a carrier/sling would be ideal, but I wouldn't hesitate to take a pram.
Nappy changing: Nope, this is more of a takeaway venue. There are toilets in Victoria Park, opposite the bakery.
Breastfeeding: Again, a takeaway venue and so not really applicable.
High chairs: Nope - go enjoy the park with a blanket and a picnic.
Pram parking: As mentioned, a small shop, and definitely no place to park a pram.
Car parking: Off street parking on various streets around the park. Also, a bus stop just outside.
